Florida Vocational Rehabilitation

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is a federal-state program that helps people who have disabilities get or keep a job. They aim to be first place people with disabilities turn when seeking employment and a top resource for employers in need of qualified employees. VR’s counselors are dedicated to helping adults with disabilities find and maintain employment, while enhancing their independence.

Adult Programs Include:

  • Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf/blind services in the workplace, as well as guidance on how to cope with hearing loss.

  • Independent Living promotes independence - including a philosophy of consumer control, peer support, self-help, self-determination, equal access, and individual and systems advocacy.

  • Supported Employment for those who require ongoing support services to succeed in competitive employment.

  • Ticket to Work, a Social Security Administration program, available to those who qualify for social security benefits. Tickets are issued for access to employment and rehabilitation services necessary to secure and retain employment.
